Who Doesn’t Love A Hot, Salty Snag?
Good news Melbourne, there’s a new option for you this weekend and it looks and sounds like it’s going to be TASTY!
The gang at Barkly Square opened their doors to food trucks but a few months ago – Dhaba Truck, Gumbo Kitchen and Cornutopia as well as a few new faces like sustainable coffee peddlers Dreux & Ghisallo, Smokin Barry’s, The Pizza Truck and Souvlaki Cart. This Sunday 29th of July Jakob’s Kitchen will get on board. Jakob’s Kitchen culinary expertise is the snag, the Chevapi, Kransky, Lamb Honey & Rosemary and gluten free sausage, the Chicken Lime and Lemongrass.
A little about the snags:
Chevapi: made using quality beef steak cuts (80%) and Pork (20%) and are made following an Authentic European Recipe using Authentic Spices and served in a crunchy roll, with traditional shredded sweet cabbage, caramelized onions, grilled red capsicum and tomato sauce.
Kransky: made using authentic spices and smoked (cooked in a smokehouse). They are comprised of 90% pork and 10% beef and are made using all natural casings. Served in a crunchy bread roll, topped with shredded tasty cheese, caramelized onions, American style mustard and tomato sauce.
Honey & Rosemary sausages: the lamb is sourced from Junee Gold in NSW and lamb shoulder cuts are used to make this gem. This sausage is an award winner in Victoria 2005 as voted in the Victorian Sausage King competition.
Chicken Lime and Lemongrass:boneless Maryland Free Range fillets of chicken are used to make these award winners! This sausage was inspired by the flavour of a Thai Jungle Curry infused with kifler lime leaves, ginger and coriander. This Award-winning sausage was voted ‘Best Regional Chicken Sausage’ in the Victorian Sausage King Competition (2008) and is Gluten Free.
Jakob’s Kitchen will be serving lunch at Barkly Square on Sunday 29th of July and Saturday 4th of August 2012. There’s a great rotation going on down at Barkly Square, it’s very exciting as new players come on to the scene and test their wares. As always, you can find all your food truckin’ faves at wherethetruck.at - updated twice daily to make finding street eats for lunch a dinner a whole lot truckin’ easier.
As always Australia, enjoy your weekend and keep on truckin’.

A post about sausages without the following link is a post that doesn’t realise its true potential.
